Class Descriptions
MISTYOGA
In this class I take the simplicity of Hatha Yoga and integrate principles of Tantra Yoga to create an effective and profound approach to practice. You will be encouraged to find a deeper connection to your body, mind and being through breath (pranayama) , yoga poses (asana), sacred chant (mantra) and compassionate self awareness. These offerings are unique and personal and can provide access to a deeper understanding of yourself and how you see the world around you.
SIVANANDA YOGA
This gentle & powerful Hatha Yoga practice touches on the five points of yoga: proper exercise (asana), breathing (pranayama), relaxation (savasana), diet and positive thinking (meditation). Learn how to perfect your practice while deeply purifying your body, mind and heart. Very effective in bringing you into balance and connecting you to your center.
BHAKTI YOGA
Bhakti Yoga is the yoga of devotion. This class incorporates pranayama, asana, chant, and meditation. Our intention is to open your heart and support you so that you can be of better service to yourself and others when you step off your mat and into the world. This class may challenge your physical and mental habits and is also lighthearted and fun!
ALL LEVELS CLASS
An all levels class will accommodate all levels of practice. Poses can be modified to fit your level of practice allowing each student to practice at his/her own pace and level of difficulty. This can be a great way to practice yoga if you are a beginner or an advanced student.
MEDITATION CLASS
In class you will be guided through meditation techniques from a variety of traditions. Meditation supports mental clarity, relaxation, stress relief as well as helping you to reconnect with your true nature and cultivate inner peace. All levels are welcome and no experience is necessary.
RESTORATIVE YOGA
In restorative yoga blocks, bolsters and blankets are used for support to eliminate unnecessary straining while in a pose. This allows you to open your body slowly and gently. Through passive stretching and focused breathing you will create the atmosphere necessary to heal body, mind & heart. This class can also be an excellent complement to a more active lifestyle.
HOMEBODY YOGA
A gentle and relaxing all-levels class, focused on replenishing the body and easing the mind. This class brings awareness to unwinding the nervous system, attuning to the body, and quieting the mind. We will incorporate gentle movement, slow flows, restorative practices, breath work, guided meditation, and time for self-study.
BEGINNING YOGA
Are you barely beginning yoga? Have you been hesitant about joining a yoga class because you're just not flexible enough? This class will focus on simple breathing techniques, gaining flexibility through gentle yoga poses and some strengthening exercises to create a gentle yet effective practice.
SATURDAYOGA
This class invites you to enjoy a slightly different style of yoga practice. Each week we have a different focus depending on the teacher. Learn new ways to revitalize and give yourself a greater sense of well-being.
1st Saturday each month is $5!
WISE WOMEN MINDFULNESS GROUP
The vision for the Wise Women Mindfulness Group is to create a sacred space for women of all ages to learn and practice the theory and fundamental practices of Insight Mindfulness; enabling us to tap into our own innate wisdom.
We will focus on exploring the foundations of mindfulness practice in a compassionate, trauma informed, scientifically supported manner that will enable us to calm and quiet the mind, open the heart, and develop mental, emotional and physical resilience.
We will also explore how Insight Mindfulness skills and teachings can help us create healthy heart-mind patterns, tend to our bodies with compassion and wisely navigate the triumphs and challenges women face.
