In this class you will have the opportunity to connect with a deeper part of yourself through breath, supported yoga poses and deep relaxation. Restorative Yoga can be a gentle yet powerful way to bring our energies into balance. Yoga in general has an enormous capacity to heal physical and mental symptoms that are stress related.
The beauty of Restorative yoga is that there is very little muscular contraction involved. With this type of practice we are opening in parts of the body that we perceive as tight by softening and relaxing rather than active stretching. During a Restorative yoga sequence, you still stretch, but you relax fully in the stretch so that tension can slowly be released.
When our body and mind relax we literally become softer. This softening gives us the space to get in touch again with the softer more nurturing qualities within us like compassion and understanding for others and self.
