Explore the Bliss Body
At times it may feel as if life is like a moving train that just keeps rolling along the tracks. Most of us do not take the time to process and move through what takes place in our daily life. As a result we can become disconnected, exhausted and oftentimes confused. Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep, is a state in which the body is completely relaxed. This is accomplished through a process in which the practitioner becomes increasingly aware of their inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This is done lying down in a quiet, warm, comfortable and safe environment. Through this process we are allowed the space to get to know much subtler parts of our self. As we examine and move through these parts, what we call Koshas in yoga, we learn to identify with something much more expansive than our human experience. As a result we can live life with more joy, peace and freedom.
The meditation practice of Yoga Nidra is based on the five main bodies, or koshas that are referred to in Yoga as sheaths. They include the physical, energetic, mental/emotional, higher intelligence, and bliss bodies. As described in the Yoga Nidra scripts, each layer comes into your awareness, one at a time, and then relaxes into place, leaving you in a state of dream like sleep. Upon awakening from yogic sleep, there is often a feeling of unity between body, mind, & breath. Typically this feeling of wholeness is seen and/or felt by the practitioner as that of peace and comfort.
The more you put into it the more healing you will most likely experience.
